Corrections FacilitiesThe Sentry™ is an emergency call and/or man down monitoring system that is designed to protect the lives of officers serving in correctional facilities. The system is also capable of monitoring existing facility systems such as fire alarms for the purpose of auxiliary annunciation. The roving officer hand held CCTV monitor and camera control system allows officers on foot or in vehicles to view his/her own discreet video output from the facility surveillance camera system. Emergency Call SystemsMan Down Alarm SystemFor correction facilities personal alarms applications, a man down alarm system feature is available that activates a man down alarm if the wireless pendant assumes a horizontal position (i.e. the person carrying it is attacked and left laying on the floor). The man down alarm transmitter will beep for a short period of time to warn the wearer that an alarm is about to be activated. Optionally, man down system pendants may be equipped with a high security pull chain that activates the man down system pendant should an attempt be made to forcibly remove it from the person carrying it. |

Personal Duress PendantsOfficers wear wireless pendants with a duress button. Two and four button models are available so that alerts with different status conditions may be indicated. For example the two button model could indicate a "stand by" and a "full alert" status. These pendants come with a secure belt clip and an optional lanyard that causes an alarm transmission when it is pulled from the pendant. Man Down PendantsOptionally, duress pendants may be equipped with man down sensors. If the pendant tips more than 60 degrees, a beeper will sound. If the pendant is not restored to its upright position within a user definable number of seconds, a duress alarm will be transmitted. LocatorsWireless locators indicate the location of the officer in distress. RepeatersStrategically placed wireless repeaters allow operation of duress pendants throughout the facility. When a duress pendant transmission is activated, the nearest repeater will relay it to the next repeater and so on ensuring that the signal reaches the central computer. These repeaters (and locators) require no connecting wiring making installation inexpensive and simple. Automated DispatchUsing computer generated voice messages, selected alarm events may be automatically broadcast over the existing facility radio network. This allows a faster reaction time than waiting for a dispatcher to respond. The dispatcher could be distracted at a sally port or in the bathroom at the time. In a duress emergency, seconds can spell the difference between life and death. |
