Marina Security Systems

The Marina Sentry is a wireless security system designed to protect marina facilities, boats and yachts of any variety, and their owners.

Intrusion & burglary detection
Monitor pumps, batteries, and other onboard systems
Personal emergency call pendants for owners

An intrusion alarm may be as simple as placing an infrared motion detector in the cabin of a boat. These detectors are not affected by the movement of the boat but are activated by the body heat of an intruder. If the boat is already equipped with an alarm system, it may be attached to a wireless transmitter as well. One or more keypads may be located on the dock so that as owners arrive and depart they may turn their intrusion alarm on or off. In addition, marina facilities may be protected by the same system.

Transmitters may be attached to boats to monitor low battery reserves, failure of AC power, moisture presence, temperature, pump activation, or other equipment status.

Wireless emergency call pendants may be issued to owners for use while they are in the marina. They will be able to signal for help should any threatening situation arise. The system identifies the person who has activated their pendant.

Wireless repeaters strategically located in the marina relay all alarm signals to a central computer. Facilities covering several square miles can easily be monitored. All transmitters are supervised for low battery and will report to the central computer before the battery becomes too weak to function. Battery life is approximately 2 years. The Marina Sentry is totally wireless so installation is easy and inexpensive.

Alarm Notification

All alarms are logged in the central computer and may be viewed at a later date as a report and a printed copy may be given to an owner upon request. Alarms are displayed as they occur on a computer monitor screen.

Two Way Radio Dispatch
The central computer will broadcast a clear user defined voice message to hand held two way radios carried by marina staff. For example, we might hear, "Intrusion alarm, the Golden Bounty, slip 27." The message will continue to rebroadcast every 15 seconds until acknowledged by a staff person either at the central computer, by a hand held radio equipped with a keypad, or by an individually assigned wireless pendant.

On Site Pagers
A text message can be displayed on alphanumeric pagers assigned to work only at the marina. These pagers are carried by staff.

Area Wide Pagers
Any alarm condition message can be relayed to a pager anywhere in the world. Owners can know immediately if any problem develops. Messages to be transmitted can be user defined.

Telephone dialer
The central computer can call in to a central monitoring station indicating who and what is in alarm. Staff at the monitoring station then make the appropriate telephone call to relay the information. The activation of the dialer can be limited to after hours if desired. Also, a simple telephone dialer can be used to send a voice message to several programmed telephone numbers indicating there is an alarm but not specifically who or what is in alarm.

Email
Alarms can be emailed to individual boat owners or any other concerned persons. Which alarms are emailed is selectable. For instance, owners may only want to know of equipment malfunctions such as low battery reserve or bilge pump activation but not intrusion alarms.

Security Camera Interface

Facility security cameras may be broadcast over a hand held video monitor carried by roving staff or security guards. If the camera is equipped with pan and tilt, it may be controlled with a hand held radio.
