Memory Care Systems
The Memory Care Sentry by CISCOR provides a virtual safety net for residents who suffer from memory disability, Alzheimer's and dementia. The boundaries of the safety net can be easily adjusted to fit the routine and habits of the resident. CISCOR's flagship DEVI 9000 software system provides an analysis report of the activities and movement patterns for each individual resident. In this way, staff persons can tailor the watchful eye of the system. They can accurately define the circumstances required to issue an alert. The various detection modes can also be permanently enabled or disabled according to the needs of each resident.
Customizable day and night schedules
Individually defined day and night boundaries can be set for all detection modes listed below. The time schedules can be individually defined for each resident.
Detection Modes
Movement or pacing
A ceiling mounted motion detector watches for and reports movement by the resident. If the movement continues beyond a prescribed amount of time, the system will issue an alert.
Time in the bathroom
The Memory Care Sentry will monitor when the resident enters the bathroom and when the resident exits the bathroom. An extended stay will be reported.
Trips to the bathroom
The number of trips to the bathroom must fall within a defined window of occurrences. Again, as with all detection modes, this can be different for day and night schedules.
Leaving the apartment
Each resident may be allowed to exit their apartment according to a time schedule defined by staff persons. If the resident exits at a time that is outside the prescribed time zone, an alert is generated. In addition, windows may be equipped with sensors to detect when they are opened.
Out of bed
A pressure sensitive detector is placed under the sheet of the resident’s bed. The system can detect when they are in bed and when they are out of bed. Alerts can be generated according to time schedules defined by staff.
Incontinence
An incontinence pad detects moisture. The pad is easily cleaned and reusable.
Staff bypass
A conveniently placed switch can be mounted on the outside of the apartment to allow caregivers and housekeeping to bypass the detection systems. The system can generate an alert if the bypass switch is not restored in a user definable amount of time.
