Storage Facility Security

The Storage Sentry™ security system is designed to prevent unauthorized entry to self storage units and theft of the contents. In today's climate of increasing crime by burglary and theft, this valuable protection is attractive to prospective tenants and increases your occupancy rate.

Door Alarms

Simple to install wireless alarm transmitters are attached to the door of every storage unit providing you with instantaneous notification should the security of any door be violated. When the tenant enters his or her code number into a keypad located at the entrance the transmitters are turned off and the door is ready to be opened. A green light indicates that a valid the keypad number was successfully entered into the keypad. The unit door is then opened and will remain disarmed until the door is closed. Closing the door automatically arms the door and will require another entry at the front keypad to disarm it again. If a door is disarmed at the keypad but not opened in 5 minutes, it will automatically rearm itself.

Vehicle Alarms

Transmitters equipped with detectors may be temporarily attached to campers, RV's and boats so any attempt to move them without first turning them off at the keypad will result in an immediate alarm notification.

Facility Entry

A weatherproof keypad is installed on a drive up pedestal at the entry of the storage facility. Successful entry of any valid keypad number may also be used to open a motorized entry gate. A buried loop on the inside of the gate detects the passage of the tenant's vehicle and will cause the gate to close automatically. If traffic is nominal, the same gate may be used to exit. Optionally, for high traffic facilities, a second gate may be installed to provide an automated exit.

Easy to Use

A simple, straightforward software user interface allows staff to have quick access to the software for the purpose of adding or deleting names and keypad numbers. Simply point, click and type. Tenants can be changed as easy as that.

Affordable

The Storage Sentry™ by CISCOR is one system you can bank on because it won't break the bank. As cost effective as it is simple to install, it puts the protection of property in place that tenants are demanding. There is no wiring to run to the units. Wireless repeaters may also be installed in larger facilities to relay door alarm signals back to the central computer. These repeaters require only a 110vac outlet for their plug in transformer. Repeaters can easily apply protection to facilities spanning many acres.

History and Reports

The main computer logs all unit entries with time, date, name of the tenant, and the number of the unit. A record is also made as to when each unit is closed and thus re-armed. The amount of time between any and all entry and exit of units is also calculated and recorded by the central computer. At any time, staff may query the computer and create a report based on criteria defined by them. For example, we may want to know all of the instances that unit 42 was accessed in the past two weeks.

Access Scheduler

You may wish to set up a schedule in the computer to allow entry and access to the facility according to a time schedule. For example, we may wish to grant entry from 7 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday and 6 AM to 10 PM on weekends.

Radios and Pagers

Descriptions of openings, closings and alarm events may be posted to alphanumeric pocket pagers or to standard hand held radios carried by staff. Two way radios will receive a computer synthesized voice message describing the alarm or activity taking place. You can determine what events are broadcast. For example, you may receive announcements of all activities or you may wish to limit announcements to alarms only.

Off Site Notification

There are two methods of off site notification. With the first method, the Sentry will call up to four telephone numbers or city wide pocket pagers and leave a message that has been recorded by you. This would be in the event of an alarm (or any other concerning activity). This method would not indicate exactly what the alarm is. For example, we might know that a unit has gone into alarm but we would not know which unit until we arrived at the facility and checked the main computer. With the second method the computer will call a contract central station and provide specific alarm information as to which unit, door or vehicle has gone into alarm. The latter option would include ongoing monthly monitoring fees.

Loud Speaker Alarm Announcement

If desired, a voice message can be broadcast over one or more optional speaker locations in the facility yard. A typical voice message might be, "Attention! You have violated the security of a storage unit. Do not move. The police have been notified." This message can be anything you wish it to be. The Storage Sentry™ can even broadcast different messages depending on the area or application and the nature of the alarm.
